BAZIS Construction LLP has finished a general reconstruction of a new building of the UN

BAZIS Construction LLP has finished a general reconstruction of a new building of the UN in Almaty in record-breaking short time (4 months) and dedicated an opening ceremony to International day of the United Nations (the UN) that is celebrated on October 24.

A large-scale reconstruction of the facility had been carried out according to the highest international requirements placed on the safety. It took 4 months for construction and reconstruction of the UN residence, 2 727 professional workers were involved. Total area of the built-up territory equals to 0.64 ha – a comfortable two-level underground parking and places for a rest with custom design are situated here.

The UN new house is situated in a business centre of Almaty near to the Botanic garden and Atakent international exhibition centre. Architecture of the building in a high-tech style underlines originality and significance of the facility.

The complex with the area of 28 348 sq.m. consists of two buildings in one of which there will be the UN agency and in the other there will be an administrative block. Moreover for the comfortable stay of personnel here were provided:

- Big conference hall

- Modern offices and open space areas

- Canteen

- Mini-kitchens on each floor

- Your own fitness-centre with a yoga room

- Parenting room.

As late as in January, 2019 all representative offices of international agencies will move here.

Baurzhan Baibek, an akim of the southern capital, ceremoniously presented the new UN building to the representatives of international agencies and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RoK.

On their opinion the new UN house will become one of the most modern and stylish pieces of architecture of Almaty. Regional Director of UNICEF on the Central Asia and Europe Afshan Khan also agree with this.

She mentioned, “The building is very modern, beautiful, comfortable and safe. Under the same roof 19 agencies and representative offices of the UN will be operating here. Thus the new UN house has been created in Kazakhstan. It will help us to strengthen our cooperation. Besides, I would like to mention that a huge area of the office that we received to ourselves will help not only in the work of the organization but also in attraction of larger segments of society, for instance, young people – our goal in questions of formation of a future agenda. That is why the construction of this building and its commissioning is the biggest gift of Kazakhstan in peace-enforcement.”
